Sometimes you just meet people and click. This is what happened when one of life’s super lovely people Alex, got in touch with my via Instagram to ask about my PR Pow Wows. A week later we had a fantastic PR workshop over the phone, where we discussed all things social media, PR and more.
Alex runs Ty Croeso a gorgeous boutique B&B in Crickhowell, between Abergavenny and Brecon in Wales. It was actually listed in the Guardian as one of the Top 10 best hotels and B&B in Europe for cyclists. So I knew that it would be something pretty special.
As Alex and I talked and I shared my social media and PR tips, she kindly invited my family and I to come and stay for a complimentary night. As it was half term the following week, it all worked perfectly. And so I said yes!
When we arrived at Crickhowell, we had a lovely walk and then went to check-in at Ty Croeso. We were greeted with the most amazing handmade cake that Alex had baked and a pot of tea. Then we were shown to our room, or should I say SUITE! I can say, hand on heart it’s THE most impressive and amazing room(s) I’ve ever stayed in. It’s so Instagram-worthy too – I took tons of photos.
As we were with the children we were up in the Mountain View Deluxe Loft Suite and it didn’t disappoint. Despite there being 4 of us, there was so much room. The main bedroom even had it’s own door, so it’s separate from the living space and the sofa-bed, which is only used if there are 4 staying.
The bathroom was insane! There was a separate roll top bath as you come up the stairs – so I made sure I took advantage of that. There was also a separate loo and a main bathroom with a gorgeous shower.
In the evening we popped to Crickhowell for dinner and then came back to sit in the main lounge, which has an honesty bar. So you can help yourself to drinks and then write down what you drank and pay when you leave. Such a great idea. There was a bookcase with tons of books and DVDS, so the children chose Horrid Henry to watch the next morning in our room.
In the suite, there was even a separate office. They really have thought of everything, which I loved.
The breakfast was fantastic! We had chosen what we wanted the night before. Alex had thought of everything and asked the children what they eat too and the next day the Nutella was waiting on the table. There was tons of fresh fruit and juices to choose too and the Eggs Benedict I ordered was amazing.
I can’t recommend staying at Ty Croeso enough. As we drove off my daughter summed it up by saying ‘Alex is so lovely isn’t she? Just a really nice lady.’ And I couldn’t agree more.
We were kindly gifted a night’s stay at Ty Croeso. All views and raving about the amazing bath and breakfast are my own.
